A few more words about the Solstice
Hey so y'all even if you're not particularly woo or whatever.
The seasons sure are a thing. Passage of time is challenging and inexplicable and worth marking in a culturally significant way. This cycle of the year has been a part of human life for as long as there have been people living in temperate climates.
Narratives and frameworks help us contextualize our subjective experience. The emotional impact of a story often has little to do with its material or historical truth -- which is to say, myths matter. There's probably already stories that fill such a role for you, even if implicitly. These stories can take on so much more meaning if they are held with intentionality, and are part of a cultural narrative that is significant to you.
I can't say what particular set of conceptualizations you might find most resonant for winter solstice.
But I do recommend finding at least some small way for yourself to mark tomorrow as meaningful.
