So is Catalina going to be the last hackintosh OS with ARM in the pipeline....

@sky the transitional period is about 2 years, they'll need to continue to support their existing mac models during that time, possibly longer

@sky I doubt it! Cook mentioned there still being some Intel Macs in the pipeline, and they’ll still be supporting those for at LEAST the transition period.

@sky just remember that, for the app store, that's probably a LOT of recompilation.
It will take years for the full transition to happen.
On another interpretation, no, ARM is not a fad. x86_64 is complicated and the chips are inefficient, macOS will actually really benefit from an ARM lineup.
