i've lost interest in engaging with people who do the 'i have an abrasive personality and am very rude a lot, as a joke!' thing. i just perceive playful rudeness as rudeness so maybe it's on me, but it's so hard to deal with.
@flippthebunny I totally agree. I had a friend group in high school who was like that. Our conversations would be mostly them launching “joke” insults at one another. Sometimes it felt like it was an excuse to be able to say mean things but then be all “haha I’m joking like we do!”. Eventually it just became super grating and I stopped having the patience for it.
@flippthebunny this still means they're willing to act that way as a bit, so it's not really any different
if it walks like an asshole and it quacks like an asshole
